Mercy me, sakes alive, and carrot coffee! Where have all the patriots gone?

Obviously, the anti-tax, anti-government preachings of the Reagan -Bush years have had the effect desired by the GOP! Thus we find ourselves in a predicament such that almost every time President Obama appoints or tries to appoint a new government official, the nominee soon admits to owing back taxes and pays up. Further, late reports show that here in the great USA we have over 300,000 taxpayers who report $1,000,000.00 or more in income AND ONLY 4 OF EACH 100 ARE BEING AUDITED! We all know that there is an element of human greed in each of us, and this almost absolute failure to audit the rich is a big reason that this greed is running wild!

We also noted that, in the reports, no mention was made as to how much this 4% audit rate yields to the treasury. I wish they would do so. I think it would be interesting!

My position about this matter is that a true patriot may fuss about how much he/she has to pay, and about what our government does with the money, but before signing the return he/she takes full note of and honors the statement immediately preceding the signature line that says that “the return is true and correct, to the best of his/her knowledge and belief”!

Obama needs to put many more good revenue agents to work!
