Mercy me, sakes alive, and flying elephants!

Paul Greenberg, editorial page editor of the Arkansas Democrat-Gazette, wants to keep the electoral college, just as it is, and has recently spent several thousand words promoting it! When it comes to public policy, he seems to think that the sun rises and sets in the stock market, while only about 10% of Americans are directly involved in it. On days when the stock market is closed, his newspaper will not bother to print a business section.

As to the subject at hand, it was the electoral college that gave us George W. Bush, who gave us a very costly and unnecessary war with Iraq, who reduced taxes on the very rich, ran up $11,000,000,000,000 federal debt, and presided over the greatest downturn in the economy since the great depression of 1930!
