JUST WHAT IS A WOMAN’S PLACE

By Kermit C. Moss

Mercy me, sakes alive, and carrot coffee! Just what is a woman’s place in our society? This matter has been rolled over and over since the time of Adam and Eve, and is still current. Just today, July 26th, 2009 on Meet the Press Hillary Clinton was asked if she thought that we would ever have a woman president, and I think she responded, “Yes, but not necessarily in my time”.

For many years it was held that a woman’s place was in the home, while the function of the man was to fight the wars, and be the bread winner. But now a woman can be a governor, senator, congressman, serve in the military, or just about anything else that she wishes. Her gender doesn’t offer much in the way of limitations!

But now let me get personal about the subject. After only a few months of bachelorhood, I will say, without any hesitation or reservation, that no home is complete without the love, charm, and civility of a woman! As in all other matters, God knew what He was doing when he made her! Man needs her in the home to serve as his companion and confidante, and to share with him his problems, successes, to counter his natural manly roughness, and other matters too numerous to mention!

Let’s hear it for womanhood!
