ANOTHER
OPINION - FROM NEAR RUSSIA, WITH LOVE!
By Kermit C . Moss
Mercy me, sakes alive, and
carrot
coffee.
Where, pray tell, is
Kazakhstan and what about it? I knew about Pakistan,
Afghanistan, and several of the other “stans”, but not Kazakhstan! However,
I know a little about it now, and here is how and why it happened!
As I grew older Father Time inexorably worked
his way with me, my mobility lessened, with my walking affected noticeably.
My family doctor recommended exercise, and I worked at it for awhile, with
no or little improvement. So my children wanted me to go the geriatric way
and get a second opinion. My family doctor arranged it, and last week I met
with Dr. Oumitana
Kajkenova, of the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences in
Little Rock, where she is a medical doctor and an assistant professor. Her
home area is Kazakhstan, and her M.D. DEGREE is from Almaty Medical Institute,
Kazakhstan, 1988.
From the good, young woman doctor and the
Internet I have found that the Republic of Kazakhstan is a country in Eurasia
ranked as the ninth largest country in the world. It is also the world’s
largest landlocked country. Its territory of 2,727,300 km is greater than
Western Europe. It is neighbored clockwise from the north by Russia, China,
Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan, and borders on a
significant part of the Caspian Sea.
It was a pleasure to discuss my nonagenarian
health with the respected young doctor.
